Registration and fees

Registration for SEFI 2027 will open in early 2027. Early bird rates will be available for a limited period. Full details of registration categories, fees, and the registration process will be published here when available.

Code of conduct

SEFI 2027 is committed to providing a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive environment for all participants. All attendees, speakers, sponsors, and volunteers are expected to adhere to our code of conduct. We do not tolerate harassment in any form. Full details will be published ahead of the conference.

Conference locations and maps

The conference will be hosted at The Diamond, a state-of-the-art engineering facility at the University of Sheffield. Additional sessions and social events will take place at nearby venues across the university campus and city centre. Detailed maps and venue guides will be published closer to the conference.

Information for presenters

Guidance for oral and poster presenters — including room specifications, AV equipment, timing, and upload procedures — will be provided to accepted authors after the notification of acceptance in March 2027.

Logistics

Information on accommodation options, recommended hotels, transport from airports and train stations, and on-campus facilities will be published here. Sheffield is well connected by rail, road, and air and offers a wide range of accommodation to suit all budgets.

Equity, Diversity & Inclusion

SEFI 2027 places ED&I at the heart of the conference experience. We are committed to ensuring accessible venues, inclusive programming, and a welcoming atmosphere for participants of all backgrounds, abilities, and identities. We encourage applications for our bursary scheme — further details will follow.

Wellness activities and taking a break

We recognise the value of rest and wellbeing during an intensive conference. SEFI 2027 will feature dedicated quiet spaces, outdoor breaks, and optional wellness activities throughout the programme. Sheffield's green spaces and cultural venues provide plenty of opportunities to recharge.

Sustainability

SEFI 2027 is committed to minimising its environmental impact. We are working to reduce waste, source food locally, and encourage low-carbon travel. A full sustainability plan will be published ahead of the conference, including guidance on carbon-offsetting travel and our on-site sustainability measures.
