Welcome to the Course in Context Analysis Tools

Aim

This teaching material aims to equip your team with a set of tools to analyse the wider context of your project. Building on the STEEPLE analysis you have already completed, it introduces three additional frameworks—Stakeholder Analysis, Porter's Five Forces and Hofstede's Cultural Dimensions. The aim is to give you practical, actionable results that can inform future design decisions and support the development of a project that is realistic, inclusive and grounded in real-world context.

Learning Outcome

Understand the wider context of a technical and complex engineering challenge, including consideration of sustainability, diversity, inclusion, cultural and societal factors in a stakeholder analysis.
