Aim

An early part of the design cycle involves background research into the context in which your innovation will be implemented. For example, regulations, local customs, or available infrastructure may influence your design decisions. In this teaching material, the well-established STEEPLE framework is used to help ensure that background research is comprehensive and well organised.
